I'm thinking of getting this off ebay or something. Which pieces do I need to play these books?

You'd need pretty much most of the uniques and a lot of the Commons and Uncommons. It helps if you have the entire Revenge of the Sith set, but it's not absolutely necessary. In the book, there are suggestions for substitutions, and you could probably play all of the missions with different characters of similar point costs.

Most of the missions are based directly on events that happened in the movies, so if a character was in the movie, there'll be a mini-adventure about it.

if you can get it cheap absolutly get it for the new maps and tiles in it for nothing else
